DAYTONA
BEACH, Fla. (October
16, 2024) –
Tickets have
officially gone on
sale for the 2025
Progressive
American Flat Track
doubleheader season
opener, sanctioned
by AMA Pro
Racing. The
DAYTONA
Short Track
I & II
will again once
serve as a
centerpiece
attraction of
Daytona Bike
Week on
Thursday, March 6
and Friday, March 7,
at the Flat Track at
Daytona
International
Speedway.
Always action-packed
and predictably
unpredictable, the
‘25 DAYTONA
Short Track I & II
will elevate the
intrigue to the next
level. With the
legendary
Jared Mees
announcing his
retirement after
securing a record
tenth premier-class
title and
the Mission
AFT SuperTwins
class transitioning
to all-production
based rules, the
Grand
National
Championship
is at the dawn of a
new era.
The world’s elite
motorcycle dirt
trackers are
preparing this
offseason for what’s
destined to be an
all-out brawl to
claim Mees’ vacated
#1 plate, and fans
will get their first
chance to see
several high-profile
new rider and
machine combinations
in action under
lights in Daytona.
Dallas
Daniels –
winner of three of
the last four
DAYTONA Short Tracks
– is considered by
many to be the heir
apparent. However,
he’ll need to go
through the likes of
Brandon
Robinson
–winner of the most
recent DAYTONA Short
Track – two-time
Grand National
Champion
Briar Bauman,
and a host of other
skilled and
battle-tested riders
to fulfill that
destiny.
Meanwhile,
Kody Kopp
kickstarted his 2023
and 2024
Parts Unlimited AFT
Singles presented by
KICKER
championship
campaigns with
outstanding
performances in
Daytona, underlining
the importance of a
fast start. Last
year’s opener also
saw Tom
Drane and
Chase
Saathoff
clash on the final
lap, laying the
groundwork for a
rivalry that is
likely to be
featured front and
center in 2025.
The 2025
doubleheader season
opener will serve as
a spectacular
showcase for the
series and do so
with more than a
half-million
motorcyclists in
Daytona Beach for
the 84th annual
Daytona Bike Week.
