of Legendary Unadilla

Penultimate Race of 2025
Extends Storied Legacy of
Central New York Venue

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.
(August 14,
2025) –
MX Sports Pro
Racing, Inc., in
conjunction with
Unadilla MX, has
announced the
return of
multinational
company
ELF Fuels &
Lubricants
as title partner
of 39th running
of the
ELF Lubricants
Unadilla
National
Presented by
Clinton
Contractor,
Anderson
Equipment
Company, and New
York LECET,
which will take
place this
Saturday, August
16, from Central
New York's
iconic Unadilla
MX. The storied
venue, which was
a part of the
inaugural
Pro Motocross
Championship,
sanctioned by
AMA Pro
Racing, in 1972,
will host the
10th and
penultimate race
of the 2025
season and Round
25 of the SMX
World
Championship
regular season.
“After a memorable
first year
partnering with such
a highly regarded
company we are
excited to welcome
the return of ELF
and appreciate their
eagerness to
continue supporting
the Unadilla
National," said Greg
Robinson, President,
Unadilla Valley
Sports Center.
"Together, we share
a long and storied
legacy within the
sport of motocross
and motorcycle
racing as a whole,
which has made this
partnership a
natural fit. ELF's
influence throughout
Europe spans decades
and we take pride in
contributing to
their continued
reinvestment in the
U.S. market."
Originally
founded in 1969
by Ward and Peg
Robinson,
Unadilla MX is
the oldest venue
in American
motocross,
predating the
championship.
The track became
a foundational
component of
bringing the
sport of
motocross to the
United States,
expanding on the
sport's European
roots by hosting
Trans-AMA events
prior to the
inception of the
Pro Motocross
Championship.
Those European
ties remained as
a host venue of
the 250cc USGP
and the first
ever FIM
Motocross of
Nations on U.S.
soil, which
allowed Unadilla
to become one of
the first venues
embraced by both
international
and domestic
riders alike. It
has served as a
crown jewel of
Pro Motocross
for decades,
with a
sprawling, natural-terrain
layout that
takes full
advantage of the
undulating
landscape of the
Unadilla Valley.
The old school
nature of the
track has
blended
seamlessly into
the sport's
modern era and
remains as
daunting of a
challenge today
as it did more
than 50 years
ago.
Like Unadilla, ELF,
whose slogan is “A
Brand of Passion,”
also carries a
racing lineage
spanning more than
five decades.
The passion behind
the business remains
the driving force of
the brand’s 50-plus
years of innovation
and performance,
where success on the
racetrack has
provided a
foundation for
proven consumer
products that carry
global notoriety.
ELF’s own two-wheel
legacy dates back to
the early 1970’s,
where collaborations
with manufacturers
like Honda and
Yamaha helped the
brand leave an
indelible mark in
road racing. Now,
ELF continues its
push into
the off-road
discipline with the
same innovation,
passion, and
commitment that has
defined the company
from the very
beginning.

A wild afternoon at the
championship's most
recent event at Ironman
Raceway saw neither moto
winner in the 450 Class
stand atop the podium,
but instead served as
the anticipated
breakthrough for Honda
HRC Progressive's Hunter
Lawrence. In his 20th
premier class start, the
elder Lawrence brother
was a picture of
consistency with a pair
of second-place finishes
that landed him atop the
overall classification
for the first time.
Prior to his victory,
Lawrence had won four
individual motos and
amassed 14 podium
finishes, including 10
runner-up efforts, but
can now call himself a
450 Class winner. The
win, combined with a
sixth-place finish by
his brother and teammate
Jett Lawrence, resulted
in a 14-point swing that
has put Hunter Lawrence
in a position to
potentially extend the
championship battle into
the final round.
Currently, 47 points
separate the brothers,
with Jett Lawrence
needing three points and
a margin of at least 50
points at the end of
action at Unadilla to
clinch a second 450
Class title.
For Jett Lawrence, a
controversial afternoon
at Ironman saw the
championship leader
receive a penalty for a
fouled gate infraction
in the opening moto,
which resulted in a
17th-place finish. He
rebounded with a win in
the second moto to
salvage a challenging
afternoon, but has now
gone winless over
back-to-back races for
the first time in his
450 Class career. With
the Edison Dye Cup
within reach on
Saturday, Lawrence will
likely coming out
swinging at Unadilla.
In the 250 Class,
another statement
victory for Monster
Energy Yamaha Star
Racing's Haiden Deegan
has the second
generation racer on the
cusp of a second
straight championship.
Deegan showed the
tenacity and dominance
that has defined his
title defense this
summer with a fifth 1-1
moto sweep that puts the
Gary Jones Cup in his
sights at Unadilla.
Currently, 51 points
separate Deegan from
Honda HRC Progressive's
Jo Shimoda and if Deegan
maintains that advantage
on Saturday he will
capture the title one
race early. Deegan will
also look to capture his
first Unadilla victory.
