Deadline
Is Sunday To Save Some Dough on USRA Licenses
Sunday, March 3, is the
final day to purchase your 2024 USRA Competitor
License before the cost increases by $20. If you
plan to compete in the Summit USRA Weekly Racing
Series this season, we encourage you to
register online or call
(515) 832-6000 to
complete your registration with one of our friendly
staff members. You can also
download the license application and then mail
or fax your completed form.
The cost of a
USRA Competitor License—which provides supplement
insurance coverage above covered medical expenses—is
$130 for Modifieds; $110 for Stock Cars and Late
Models; $100 for B-Mods, Hobby Stocks, Limited Mods
and Factory Stocks; and $60 for Tuners. There are no
refunds for license purchases.
All
competitors must possess either a USRA Competitor
License or USRA Temporary License prior to
participating in a USRA-sanctioned event event. USRA
Competitor License fees increase by $20 beginning at
12:01 a.m. on Monday, March 4. In addition to a $20
increase in price, licenses purchased on or before
March 3 include $100,000 supplemental insurance
protection—this amount drops to $25,000 beginning
March 4.
To be eligible for Summit USRA
Weekly Racing Series national and regional points
funds, a driver must have competed in at least half
(50%) of the events held at any one USRA-sanctioned
racetrack which hosts at least eight (8) events in
2023. To be eligible for track points funds,
competitors must have competed in at leat half (50%)
of the events held at that racetrack.
USRA
Competitor Licenses must be purchased directly from
the USRA by calling (515)
832-6000 or online at
register online. You may also
print the form and mail it to the USRA office
address listed on the form. All credit card
transactions incur a small fee, but mailing a check
has no additional fees.
USRA Competitor
Licenses must be purchased directly from the USRA.
Temp licenses must be purchased from the racetrack.
Racetracks do not sell USRA Competitor Licenses and
the USRA does not sell temp licenses. Drivers opting
to purchase a temp license earn the normal national,
regional and track points, but the purchase of a
temp license does not apply toward the cost of a
USRA Competitor License if one is purchased later,
and only those with a USRA Competitor License will
receive points fund money.
For competitors in
the USRA Modified, USRA Stock Car, USRA B-Mod, USRA
Hobby Stock and USRA Tuner classes, Summit USRA
Weekly Racing Series national, regional and track
points are awarded at USRA-sanctioned events March
1-Sept. 30, except during the Summit USRA Nationals
Sept. 17-21 at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland,
Mo. Drivers competing at the Summit USRA Nationals
earn 100 bonus national points. No national,
regional or track points are awarded for these
classes at any other racetrack Sept. 17-21.
For competitors in the USRA Late Model class, Summit
USRA Weekly Racing Series national, regional and
track points are awarded at USRA-sanctioned events
March 1-Sept. 30.
For competitors in the USRA
Limited Mod and Sunoco USRA Factory Stock classes,
Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series national and track
points are awarded at USRA-sanctioned events Feb.
23-Nov. 2, except during the Summit USRA Southern
Nationals Oct. 31-Nov. 2 at the Boothill Speedway in
Greenwood, La. Drivers competing at the Summit USRA
Southern Nationals earn 100 bonus national points.
No national, regional or track points are awarded
for these classes at any other racetrack Sept.
17-21.
National points are awarded to each
competitor based on his/her best twenty (20)
points-earning events. Regional points are the
cumulative track points earned within a region (no
maximum number of events). Track points are awarded
at all USRA-sanctioned events at a single racetrack
designated as such by the racetrack promoter.
