The rules for the 2024
Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series been posted on the USRA
website and are available for competitors to download at
usraracing.com/rules.
There are eight
divisions sanctioned for competition in the Summit USRA
Weekly Racing Series including USRA Modifieds, Medieval
USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks, USRA
Late Models, USRA Limited Mods, Sunoco USRA Factory
Stocks and USRA Tuners.
Except during the Summit
USRA Nationals, Sept. 17-21, points are awarded at
USRA-sanctioned events beginning March 1 through Sept.
30 for drivers in the Modified, Stock Car, B-Mod, Hobby
Stock, Late Model and Tuner classes. Except during the
USRA Southern Nationals (dates TBA), points are awarded
at USRA-sanctioned events beginning March 1 through Oct.
22, for drivers in the Limited Mod and Factory Stock
classes.
Registration is open for racers planning
to compete in the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series
during the 2024 calendar year. The first 300 drivers to
purchase a USRA license will receive a gift card valued
at $50 from Summit Racing Equipment.
All drivers
competing in a USRA-sanctioned event must possess a
valid USRA license. The purchase of a USRA Competitor
License provides supplement insurance coverage above
covered medical expenses. The cost of a USRA Competitor
License for the 2024 calendar year is $130 for
Modifieds; $110 for Stock Cars and Late Models; $100 for
B-Mods, Hobby Stocks, Limited Mods and Factory Stocks;
or $60 for Tuners.
All licenses fees will
increase by $20 beginning March 3, 2024. Purchase
directly from the USRA by calling
(515) 832-6000 or online
at
usraracing.com/register. Competitors may also
download the application at
usraracing.com/downloads, and then print and mail or
fax your completed form with a check or credit card
information. A service fee of $5 applies to all credit
card transactions. There are no refunds for any license
purchase.
Alternatively, drivers may purchase a
USRA Temporary License for $10 which is valid for one
(1) event only. Drivers opting to purchase a temp
license will earn the same points as those with a USRA
Competitor License. The purchase of a temp license does
not apply toward the cost of a USRA Competitor License
if one is purchased later.
USRA Competitor
Licenses must be purchased directly from the USRA while
temp licenses must be purchased from the racetrack.
Racetracks do not sell USRA Competitor Licenses and the
USRA does not sell temp licenses.
To be eligible
for national points funds, a driver must have competed
in a minimum of fifty percent (50%) of the events held
at any one USRA-sanctioned racetrack which hosts a
minimum of eight (8) events during the 2024 calendar
year. To be eligible for track points funds, driver must
have competed in a minimum of fifty percent (50%) of the
events held at the racetrack where the points are
awarded.
USRA awards banquet January 27:
The United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) and
United States Racing Association (USRA) will host a
joint awards banquet on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at
Harrah's Kansas City Hotel & Casino to celebrate the
2023 racing season for both organizations.
