Performance Delivers Power to Briggs, Lacy
One USRA B-Mod and one
USRA Hobby Stock driver at this year's 10th Annual
Summit USRA Nationals powered by Chevrolet Performance
each won a new 602 crate engines courtesy of Chevrolet
Performance.
To be eligible for the drawing, each
competitor had to pre-register for the Summit USRA
Nationals and agree to utilize the engine in 2024.
The winning names were drawn during Friday's portion
of the event, and the recipients of two new CT350 crate
engines from Chevrolet Performance were USRA B-Mod
driver Wesley Briggs of Lebanon, Mo., and USRA Hobby
Stock driver Kevin Lacy of Broken Arrow, Okla.
“I
have had a few 602s in the past. With how the economy
is, I truly believe they are the way to go,” Briggs
said. “I was totally shocked when my name was called. I
have never won anything in my life and honestly next
year was up in the air and I didn't even know if I was
going to be able to race without a new motor and at this
time I wasn't going to be able to buy one or pay to have
my open motor refreshed. I want to thank USRA and the
Chevy dealership a ton for the motor.”
USRA B-Mod driver Wesley Briggs took delivery of a new
Chevrolet Performance CT350 crate engine that he won at
the Summit USRA Nationals in October.
“The Chevrolet Performance crate engines have always
been a great reliable engine option for us. We have won
many races and a championship running their engines over
the years,” Lacy said. “You know that when you show up
at the track you have the equipment to get the job done.
“Winning the new Chevrolet Performance crate engine
at the USRA Nationals in October was unbelievable.
Racers sacrifice a lot to be able to race every week and
it sure does help when something like this happens to
you. We look forward to running this new engine in 2024.
I have always been a huge fan of the USRA. It’s nice to
race with a sanctioned series that gives back to the
racers.”
