Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (July 20, 2009) – Round Five
of the ASCS Midwest vs. Northern Plains Challenge Series
takes place this Friday night as the pair of Regions square
off at Hartford, South Dakota's I-90 Speedway.
Friday's card marks the fifth of six challenge events
between the Midwest and Northern Plains Regions, with
critical championship points awarded for both series.
Atop both the Midwest and Northern Plains point charts is
Lincoln, Nebraska's Jason Danley.
Danley holds a 114-point edge over Giltner, Nebraska's Chad
Humston in ASCS Midwest points, with others among the top
five including Sioux Falls shoe Eric Lutz, Lincoln's Mike
Boston and Missouri's Brian Brown.
In the Northern Plains points chase, Danley holds a 35-point
edge over Lutz, with Jody Rosenboom, Ryan Bickett and Robby
Wolfgang rounding out the current top five.
Hot laps
are set for 7:15 p.m. on Friday with racing action to get
under way at 8:00 p.m.

The ASCS
Midwest Region is slated for 15 nights of competition at
eight tracks throughout Nebraska and the surrounding areas
of Missouri and South Dakota. The ASCS Northern Plains
Region takes on the Midwest in six of those events.
The American Sprint Car Series, in its
18th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing events, brings
the best of Sprint Car racing to nearly 100 different tracks
throughout 25 states and Canada in 2009. Anchored by the
Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Dirt Series presented by K&N
Filters, ASCS also consists of a dozen different Regions
throughout the nation.
