ASCS Rebel Region Ready for

Fayetteville Motor Speedway

 

Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (June 2, 2008) – Florida's Kenny Adams continues to lead the American Sprint Car Series Rebel Region championship points chase as the series ventures to North Carolina's Fayetteville Motor Speedway this Saturday night.

 

Saturday's card marks the fifth stop of the season for the ASCS Rebel Region, with four different drivers reaching victory lane through the series opening four events of the season.

 

Adams won the series opener in February, with Bryn Gohn and Danny Martin, Jr., taking top honors during an April weekend double in Florida.  Then on Memorial Day weekend, Ocean Springs, MS, shoe Michael Miller captured his first career series win.

 

A quarter of the way through the 2008 slate, Adams holds a 40-point lead over his stepson, Bryn Gohn, in the ASCS Rebel Region title chase.  The Malabar, FL, duo is chased by Daytona Beach's Matt Tiffany, who is just two points behind Gohn, with Bonney Lake, WA, racer Samantha Taylor another six points back in fourth.

 

Florida veteran racer Red Stauffer rounds out the current top five, with the balance of the current top ten including Miller, Martin, Georgia's Matt Linder, Florida's Frank Beck III and Gavin Thomas.

 

Saturday's action at Fayetteville Motor Speedway fires off at 8:00 p.m.

 

The high-banked, 4/10-mile Fayetteville Motor Speedway dirt oval is located in Fayetteville, NC, off I-95 Exit 46, then 1.3 miles southeast on SR 87, then 1.5 miles southwest on Doc Bennett Road.  For more information, contact the track at 910-223-7223.

 

The ASCS Rebel Region is currently slated for 17 nights of action at 15 different tracks throughout Georgia, Florida, Alabama, North Carolina and Mississippi in 2008.

 

The nation's most prominent Sprint Car sanctioning body with a dozen different Regions throughout the United States in addition to the O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National series, the American Sprint Car Series' (ASCS) 17^th year of activity will include approximately 250 nights of racing at more than 100 different race tracks throughout 28 different states and Canada.
