Young Prevails in ASCS Regional Clash

at Northwest Florida

 

Lonnie Wheatley, BAKER, Fla. (June 27, 2008) – Don Young captured his first career American Sprint Car Series feature win by topping Friday night's 25-lap ASCS Coastal vs. Rebel Region main event at Northwest Florida Speedway.

 

The 19-year-old Bartlett, TN, racer gunned into the lead at the outset and was never headed as he collected the victory aboard Cliff Young's DynoTech-powered Patton Classic Cars/Pro Auto No. 75 J&J.

 

Young, the current ASCS Coastal Region points leader, fought off ASCS Rebel contenders Matt Tiffany and Kenny Adams for the victory, with Bryn Gohn and Red Stauffer rounding out the top five in the non-stop feature event.

 

Tiffany and Gohn topped heat race action.
