Gregg Garners ASCS Southwest Win

Lonnie Wheatley, SHOW LOW, Ariz. (May 25, 2008) – Ben Gregg completed a sweep of the weekend's American Sprint Car Series Southwest Region double by topping Sunday night's 25-lap feature at Thunder Raceway.

 

The triumph marked Gregg's fourth ASCS Southwest Region win in a row, allowing him to extend to his current series point lead to 46 markers over Shawn Sander.

 

Sander led the opening half of Sunday's feature before sixth-starter Gregg and Rick Ziehl raced by for the top two spots.  Gregg held off 12^th-starter Ziehl the rest of the way, with Steve Martin taking third.  Cody Cambensy and Jesse Baker rounded out the top five.

 

Sander and Baker topped heat race action.
