Summer Sizzle this Saturday at CSP!

Lonnie Wheatley, PEORIA, Ariz. (June 7, 2016) – A blockbuster pair of back-to-back weekends of racing action atop the 1/3-mile Canyon Speedway Park clay oval kicks off with this Saturday’s Fifth Annual Summer Sizzle.

The action will be sizzling on Saturday night with the Super Late Models and IMCA Modifieds headlining the card that also includes IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Hobby Stocks, Dwarf Cars and Micro Sprints.

Saturday’s card will mark the third time the Super Late Models have taken to the CSP oval this season with Sean Bray racing to victory lane on March 26 before lightning nixed the May 7 feature event.

With lightning also putting a stop to the Arizona Differential IMCA Modified feature on May 7, Saturday’s card will be the first IMCA Modified outing at CSP in over two months.  Guy Norton won the most recent feature on April 2 to close to within four points of CSP points leader Zack Madrid, who is just one marker ahead of Mike Strobl.

George Fronsman has a winning streak of three in a row on the line in the Allscapes IMCA Stock Car vs. SCRA Stock Car ranks while Chuck Thornton denied Paul O’Connor a third consecutive Scottsdale Muffler & Automotive IMCA Hobby Stock vs. Renegade win last time out on May 28.

Fronsman has a 13 point advantage over Cody Center in Stock Car points with Jason Crowe two points ahead of Richard Bennett in the Hobby Stock points chase.

Tony Martin bested the Dwarf Cars most recent event while Dustin Cormany stopped Shon Deskins’ win streak at two in a row last time out in the Power 600 Micro Sprints.

Tickets to Saturday’s Fifth Annual Summer Sizzle are just $16 with a $3 discount for Military, Seniors and Students.  Children ages 7-12 are $6, with children 6 and under admitted free.  VIP passes are available for $20.
