Lonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (May 15, 2019) –
1/7-mile Little DCRP clay oval at Dodge City Raceway Park got
broken in a just two weeks ago.
Now, a second try to crown first time winners in the Micro
Sprint Car and Kart ranks will take place this Sunday with
racing action getting under way at 4:00 p.m.
The first attempt at Little DCRP on May 5 attracted 56
competitors with intense heat race action before an approaching
tornado and severe thunderstorms cutting racing festivities
Now, with some competitive laps turned atop the
newly-constructed oval, Sunday will crown first time Little DCRP
winners in Micro Sprint divisions including Winged “A” Class,
Non-Wing “A” Class, Restricted “A” Class and Junior Sprints
along with Go Karts (Junior and Adult) and 500-cc Outlaw Cage
Pit gates open at 1:00 p.m. with hot laps beginning at
approximately 3:15 p.m.
General admission to the grandstands is just $10 with children
11 and under admitted free. Pit passes are $20.
Sunday’s card marks the second of eight scheduled Sunday events
atop the Little DCRP clay oval.
In total, the 2019 season atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway
Park clay oval is slated for 18 nights of action along with
another eight Sunday cards atop the newly-constructed 1/7-mile
Little DCRP clay oval.
