More Little DCRP Action on Sunday
Lonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (August 6, 2020) – When Saturday night’s checkered flag flies at Dodge City Raceway Park, it doesn’t mean the racing festivities are done for the weekend at the southwest Kansas speedplant.
It simply shifts from the 3/8-mile clay oval on Saturday night to the 1/7-mile Little DCRP clay oval on Sunday for another round of Micro Sprint Car and Kart and racing action.
Sunday’s festivities officially go green at 6:30 p.m. Pit Gates open at 3:30 p.m. The draw for heat race starting position will begin at 4:30 p.m. and end at 5:30 p.m. with hot laps getting under way at 5:45 p.m.
Two races into the second season of Little DCRP competition, Deekan McRoberts is four-for-four by doubling up in both the Novice Junior Sprints and Junior Karts in the opening pair of events. Others that have gone two-for-two include Daniel Williams in Adult Karts, Randle McRoberts in Open Outlaw Karts and Buddy Mullens in Winged “A” Class Micro Sprints.
Mullens also holds the Non-Wing “A” Class points lead with Keenan Hernandez leading the way in Advanced Junior Sprints.
