Sunshine Seeks Turkey Night Loot

Lonnie Wheatley, INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (November 21, 2018) – Tyler Courtney already has the Amsoil USAC National Sprint Car championship to his credit in 2018.

Now, “Sunshine” will make a run for the ARP $50,000 “Turkey Night” bonus at California’s Ventura Raceway on Wednesday and Thursday.

Courtney will take the wheel of the Steve Watt No. 81 for the USAC West Coast Sprint Car portion of the event on Wednesday and Thursday before finishing out the USAC National Midget campaign aboard the Clauson-Marshall-Newman Racing Priority Aviation No. 7bc entry in Thursday’s 78th running of the “Turkey Night Midget Grand Prix”.

Any driver that can pick off Thursday night wins in both the USAC West Coast Sprint Cars and the USAC National Midgets will pick up an extra $50,000.

It would be a nice addition to a season that already includes an impressive 14 overall wins.

“Sunshine” enters the “Turkey Night Grand Prix” portion sitting fifth in USAC National Midget points after Saturday’s “November Classic” at Bakersfield Speedway.

After a heat race win, Courtney’s luck soured with a 22nd-place to finish out the Bakersfield evening.

Courtney looks to bounce right back with a strong “Turkey Night” outing on Wednesday and Thursday.
