Park City, Kansas – June 23, 2018  -  Not even a late-race caution with five laps to go could detour Tyler Davis from victory lane as he picked up his first National Championship Racing Association of ParkCity, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products modified victory of the season Saturday night at 81 Speedway in Park City to wrap up a double-header weekend for the tour.

Three-time and defending tour champion Dan Powers and Davis started on the front row for the twenty-five-lap with Powers taking the lead as the green flag fell. Davis gave chase to Powers the first eight laps before Davis began to make his move for the lead on lap eight.

Davis would get past Powers on lap nine and yet Powers continued to be within striking distance. A late-race caution bunched up the field and put Powers and the leaders rear bumper, but Davis would hold on to claim his first series victory since May of last year and his sixth career with the series.

Powers settled for second while former champion Scott Green came home third. Cole Traugott worked his way up from his tenth starting position to finish fourth while Tanner Mullens came from sixteenth to round out the top five.

Current series points leader Cody Schniepp had to transfer out of the night’s “B” feature and would start fourteenth and came home seventh to maintain his mid-season point lead.

The three, eight lap heat races for the twenty-eight-car field were won by Ryan McAninch, Green and Davis while Bryce Schniepp took home “B” feature honors.

Next up for the NCRA modified division will be on Saturday night, July 14, at 81 Speedway with the series 360-ci sprint car division taking on the American Sprint Car Series Red-River Region and the Oklahoma USAC Non-Wing Sprint Car Series.
