Mark Robinson Memorial and Sooner Late Models Highlight Red Dirt
Raceway’s Season Finale!
October 16, 2017 - It will be a night
of remembrance this coming Friday night as Red Dirt Raceway in
Meeker, Oklahoma presents the fourth annual “Mark Robinson
Memorial” featuring the Sooner Late Model Series, Winged Sprint
Cars, Sport Mods, Pure Stocks and Mini Stocks.
Mark was a well-known fixture at then
named Brill Motor Speedway in the tracks sport modified division
and would always lend a helping hand to then track owner Mark
Brill with track up-grades throughout the week until his
untimely death.
It will be the second and final
appearance of the season at the track for the Sooner Late Model
Season. Jay Sale took home the victory here back on April 7.
Race Procedure for this Friday night’s “Mark Robinson Memorial”
is as follows:
$30 draw/entry fee and that includes transponder rental. Drivers
will line up their heat races by pill draw and the championship
features by passing points with either a 2, 3, or 4 row
inversion that will be drawn at the line up board after heats
are completed.
Pay information for each division:
Mini Stocks....$250 to win and $60 to start
Pure Stocks....$350 to win and $60 to start Sport Mods....$500 to win and $70 to start Sprint Cars....$600 to win and $125 to start Late Models....standard Sooner Late Model Series purse
Mini Stocks will run Creek County Speedway rules (D.O.T. Tires).
After the races the track will have a campfire/bonfire at the
top of turn four and distribute year-end awards. The track will
have available, for sale, beer, pop, water and snacks and
encourage all drivers and fans to stay awhile, mingle and have a
great time. Lawn chairs are encouraged.
Grandstand admission is $15 for adults while kids ages 10 and
under will be admitted into the grandstands for free. Gates open
at 5:00 PM with race time slated for 8:00 PM.
