WERA WINNERS
ROLL TO VICTORY
WITH BST
CARBON-FIBER
WHEELS
FOR IMMEDIATE
RELEASE
DAYTON, Ohio.
(May 26, 2010) -
Jeremy Toye and
Tim Hunt
continued their
winning ways on
BST wheels at
round three of
the WERA
National
Challenge
series, held at
Miller
Motorsports
Park, in Tooele,
Utah.
Toye, riding a
Roadracingworld.com
BMW S 1000 RR
project bike,
which is also
sponsored by
Lee's Cycle and
San Diego BMW,
earned a pair of
victories in the
series' premier
WERA Superbike
and Formula 1
classes early in
the German
superbike's
development
cycle.
After a great
weekend in Utah,
Toye said: "It's
pretty amazing
that we're
already going
this good and
the bike isn't
even set up the
way I like it
yet. I can't
wait to see its
full potential!"
Team
Hooters/Apex
Racing-backed
Hunt continued
his domination
of the Superbike
Expert class on
a newly prepped
CBR1000RR
equipped with a
Brock's
Performance CT
Single titanium
exhaust system
and BST
carbon-fiber
wheels. On a
similarly
outfitted
GSX-R1000, he
also took second
place in Open
Superstock.
"We ran the BST
wheels on our
new Honda and
the Suzuki,"
said Hunt. "I
found them to be
equally
effective in
handling and
speed gains on
both bikes. I
dropped one
second in my lap
times on the
Suzuki with BSTs
in Senior
Superbike
compared to the
Open Superstock
race (which
doesn't allow
aftermarket
wheels)."
Hunt currently
leads WERA's
points tallies
in two national
classes and 11
regional
classes.
Team Hooters
also carded a
pair of
second-place
showings in the
six-hour WERA
National
Endurance race.
Hunt, Skip
Salenius and
Billy Ethridgeon
rode a GSX-R1000
in the
Heavyweight
class, while the
Middleweight
squad consisted
of James "The
Rocket" Rispoli,
Blake Jones and
Bryce Prince.
Team Hooters'
Captain Hunt was
in the saddle
for more than
half of the
six-hour event.
"In the final
hour," he said,
"I was running
the same lap
times as I did
at the
beginning. The
ease of riding
the bike with
the BSTs and how
much less energy
it takes to move
it around is
amazing."
Toye is looking
to continue his
success at the
Lucas Oil
Superbike
Challenge, which
will run in
conjunction with
the World
Superbike Series
this weekend.
Hunt is
preparing to
compete in the
next AMA Pro
roadrace, at
Road Atlanta, on
June 4 - 6.
