Racer Modified Series Kicks Off Friday at Ark-La-Tex

VIVIAN, La. (March 14)
— The USRA
American Racer Modified Series presented by Day Motor
Sports will kick off the 2022 campaign this Friday and
Saturday, March 18-19, at the Ark-La-Tex Speedway in
Vivian, La.
A top prize of $2,000 awaits the
driver who claims the checkered flag in Friday’s USRA
Modified feature while Saturday’s main event winner will
take home $3,000.
On Friday and Saturday, the
pits open at 4 p.m., grandstands open at 5, hot laps
begin at 6:30 and racing gets underway at 7:30.
Both nights, the USRA Modified main event will start 24
cars if there are 40 or less entered that night, or 26
if more than 40 are entered. Up to two series
provisionals will be awarded for each main event. On
Friday, provisionals will be based on 2021 ARMS final
points.
Drivers are encouraged to get pre-entered
for this event. Not only will you save on a two-day
entry fee, but all pre-entries will also be eligible for
one of three $100 cash drawings at the pit meeting both
nights.
Drivers in the USRA Modified, USRA
Limited Mod and Sunoco USRA Factory Stock divisions will
also earn Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series national
points.

The support
classes for the weekend will include USRA Limited Mods,
Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks, Pro-Mods and FWDs.
USRA Limited Mods and Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks will
run heat races Friday and complete their feature events
Saturday with a pair of $1,500-to-win features to
cap the weekend .
Pro-Mods will run a complete
show during Friday night's program, and FWDs will run a
complete show on Saturday night.
The “Land of
Three-Wide” will host an open practice Thursday night
from 7-10 p.m. to kick off the weekend.
Keeping
dirt modified racing alive and well in the South Central
United States, a dozen of the top dirt ovals in the
region will host the USRA American Racer Modified Series
presented by Day Motorsports during the series’ second
season in 2022.
Each of the venues will host one
or more event paying no less than $2,000 to win and a
minimum $200 to start the feature race. At season’s end,
the points champion will pocket $4,000.
Triston
Dycus of Maypearl, Texas, is the defending series
champion.
