Ark-La-Tex Speedway Season Opens May 21 with USRA American Racer Modified Series

The newly-formed series for USRA Modifieds—the USRA American Racer Modified Series presented by Day Motor Sports (ARMS)—will fire up the 2021 Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, Louisiana, on Friday, May 21, at 7 p.m. presented by Panel Truss and Transmissions Unlimited.

Joining the high-powered Modified teams will be Crate Late Models, Factory Stocks, Limited Modifieds and ProMods.

The event has two special bonuses:

• USRA Modified teams will be racing for the TNT Auto Parts $500 Two-Track Bonus. Any USRA Modified driver that wins the feature event on Friday, May 21, at ALT and again on Saturday, May 22, at The Rev in Monroe, Louisiana (the next ARMS tour stop) will take home the bonus, making it a combined $4,500 weekend haul.

• Crate Model teams will be racing for the Black Diamond Chassis $500 Two-Track Bonus. Any Crate Model driver that wins the feature event on Friday and again on Saturday at The Rev will take home the bonus, making it a combined $2,100 weekend haul.

Black Diamond Chassis is based out of Shreveport, Louisiana, and is a dirt late model chassis company started by 2014 Lucas Oil and World of Outlaws Chassis Builder of the Year Ronnie Stuckey.

Fridays’s Ark-La-Tex Speedway show is also the season opener at the racetrack for the Factory Stocks, Limited Mods and ProMods. The pits open by 4 p.m., grandstands open at 5, driver draw cutoff is at 6:30, folowed by hot laps and then racing at 7.

General admission is $15 (ages 12-64) while seniors (65+), active military and first responders are just $12. Kids ages 6-11 get into the stands for $5. Pit passes are $35.

The Ark-La-Tex Speedway is a wide 1/4-mile high-banked red clay oval located 30 minutes north of Shreveport, Louisiana or one hour south of Texarkana, Arkansas—located almost exactly where the Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas state lines meet. The track is 0.6 mile south of SR 2 on SR 1, then 0.7 mile west on Airport Rd., then 2.2 miles south on Boyter Ln. The physical location is 13035 Boyter Ln, Vivian, LA 71082.

EVENT INFORMATION: Each of the venues hosting one or more these blockbuster USRA American Racer Modified Series shows are paying $2,000 to win or more, plus at least $200 to start the feature race. At season’s end, the points champion will pocket no less than $4,000 of the nearly $20,000 points fund. There is a $100 entry fee for each event.

Officials will draw three random names that will win a $100 cash bonus. To win this award you must have competed in the previous ARMS event on March 13. Two provisional starting spots will be awarded at each event to the two drivers ranked highest in series points that did not qualify for the main event. Each driver is eligible for two (2) provisionals in 2021. Dozens of contingency awards will also be doled out during race nights and at season’s end.

USRA Modified racers will be able to compete for several individual points funds. In addition to the new USRA American Racer Modified Series, drivers will earn national and regional points in the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series and sanctioned racetracks may also award 2021 track points funds also.

USRA competitors are encouraged to purchase a USRA license ahead of time at as those will not be sold at the racetrack. Temp licenses will be available at the track for $10.
